As regards the sala ry to be attached to the post,

recommendations

of the

Retrenchment Committee

did not, I believe, escape - attention, but it was con-

sidered that a salary of $1,200 was too low to in-

to accept the appointment and quite inadequate to maintain a respectable standard of living. It was, therefore
